Summary:

  • The Accounting Manager is responsible for the general supervision and management of the accounting Department. Primary responsibilities include general accounting and budgeting, oversee and review completion of monthly financial statements, and provide financial support to entity leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep Operational Management informed with timely communications and provide a customer service orientation of financial services to all constituencies.Assist in providing timely and accurate service to Controller, Department Directors, Corporate Accounting peers; and their customers.Assist in providing financial support and training for Controller, Department Directors and other customers on the use of reporting tools and procedures for Lawson Activities and General Ledger.Coordination monthly financial close process including review and analysis of internal financial statements packages. Review actual to budget variance narratives for accuracy and reasonableness. Work with Department Directors to ensure accuracy.Review/Coordinate/Prepare internally and externally distributed financial data including monthly financial presentation package, profit and loss analysis, surveys, Quarterly Entity Financial data, and department requests for accuracy and reasonableness.Review and ensure that all balance sheet account analysis are performed; third party liabilities reconciled, inter entity reconciliations issues are resolved in a timely and accurate fashion. Oversee the preparation of accounts receivables aging schedules on a monthly basisOversee and coordinate quarterly and annual external Audit process including acting as the main liaison to external audit team, scheduling and preparation of work papers, review and completion of various schedules and organization and completion of final reporting packages and data.Assist Controller in coordination of annual operating and capital budget process, which may include training of end users on various systems and processes. Coordinate and review various assumptions and projections, including quarterly and interim.Assist Controller in analyzing and interpreting financial data, make recommendations and be the implementer of enhancements to day-to-day operations and new policies and procedures.Proactively review procedures and process to enhance with automation or better methods. Identification and implementation of new ideas to provide better and timely data / information.Perform special projects as required. Work with other Entity Supervisor/ Managers in resolving problems related to standard financial issues and practices.Establishes professional relationship with staff to ensure accessibility and open communication, and oversees performance management and development of staff.

Credentials:

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
    • And 5+ years related experience in finance and/or accounting Education Specialization: Finance, Accounting or related field
    • Master of Arts or Science
    • Education Specialization: Masters in Business Administration or Finance
