Summary:

  • Provide leadership to the Penn Cancer Network to evaluate new network members, assist in contract negotiations and strategic planning for the development of network-wide objectives. Demonstrate leadership for maintenance of effective relationships with all representatives at member institutions; optimize development and integration between Penn Medicine and the Penn Cancer Network. Ensures leadership to develop programs, services and approaches that support the development of community–based cancer programs at select hospitals throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Assists in leading Penn Cancer Network affiliates with establishing a strategy for cancer programs in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, develops and implements programs, activities and events at various network affiliates on behalf of the Penn Cancer Network, The Abramson Cancer Center and other key stakeholders. Identifies and assesses potential new Penn Cancer Network members. Ensures the effective ownership, implementation and accountability for Penn Cancer Network services towards each network partner. Works collaboratively with oncology nursing leaders, physicians, operations administrators in the Penn Cancer Network community as required to strengthen and sustain continuous integration of care delivery between the community cancer program and Penn Medicine. Conducts an assessment and evaluation of potential Penn Cancer Network members using an assessment system to ensure that rating of prospective members is consistent with resources available and personnel to accomplish contract goals. Participates in strategic planning at Penn Cancer Network affiliate hospitals to develop long-range plans for relationship. Sets priorities of joint activities and oversees implementation of plans as necessary. Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with key representatives of Penn Cancer Network affiliates, including but not limited to: CEO’s, Administrators with operational responsibility for the cancer program, Cancer program managers, Oncology Nurse Managers, Vice Presidents, Medical Directors of Cancer Programs, Oncologists and other relevant physicians, Marketing Directors, Public Relations Director, Coordinator of Community Outreach, etc. Oversees Penn Cancer Network CME offerings and all other continuing education initiatives that are offered on campus or in the community on behalf of network affiliates. Ensures and leads the alignment of disease site program development between Penn Medicine and all related programs at affiliate institutions, especially how it relates to joint CME conferences and patient referrals. Works to ensure that Penn Cancer Network Programs are aligned with Penn Radiation Oncology initiatives at affiliate institutions. Works to ensure that Infusion & Pharmacy Quality and Safety initiatives are successfully evaluated and implemented and maintained at selected Penn Cancer Network sites. Oversees planning and implementation of Penn Cancer Network-wide clinical research activities: Plans, schedules and coordinates all clinical research meetings, workshops and related events for the Penn Cancer Network. Directs cancer control and related research activities of the Penn Cancer Network. Serves as the Liaison between Penn Medicine and Penn Cancer Network Affiliates in coordinating survivorship and genetics programs.

Credentials:

  • RN or RN-GRAD or RN-TEMP (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

Master's Degree (Nursing, Business, Hospital Administration, Social Work or other related field) AND 5+ years relevant oncology experience

AND 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience
