Summary of Accountabilities: The General Radiology technologist performs radiographic procedures on patients and assists the Radiologists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. 9. Machines/Tools & Equipment: Radiology equipment of all types, CR ( Computerized Radiology ) system; PACS / RIS system, Phone, FAX, phone and various office equipment. 10. Minimum Certifications, Registry and/or Licenses Required: Must be ARRT eligible and registered within one year of hire date. 12. Degree Requirements and Minimum Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent required; Graduation from an approved Radiologic Technology Program. 13. Skill Requirements: Profiency in radiographic techniques and procedures, good organizational and people skills. Essential understanding of computer data entry in Windows environment. Excellent verbal and written skills. Maintains a professional appearance. Consistently demonstrates a high degree of customer service skills 2 Performance Evaluation Scale: 1 = Below Threshold 2 = Threshold 3 = Target 4 = High Performance Role In Relation To Accountabilities Performance Measures OPERATIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes essential position accountabilities, compliance and performance standards Performing radiographic studies in General Radiology 1. Performs all routine X-ray studies in general X-ray, using stationary as well as portable X-ray equipment, on a continuous basis using proper techniques, positioning and anatomical labeling. 2. Operates digital equipment, using cassettes and CR system. 3. Operates Radiology equipment in the O.R., including C-arms, portable machines, etc. 4. Performs Radiographic studies as ordered on nursing units using portable X-ray equipment. 5. Practices proper radiation protection techniques (wears film badge at all times, wears body aprons and thyroid shields when necessary, shields patients, collimates films and avoids rerays). 6. Prepares supplies and patient radiographic exams. 7. Ensures that exam room is clean, orderly, and with adequate supplies to perform examinations. 8. Instruct radiographic students with proper procedures and techniques. 9. Maintains equipment in good working order, and contacts Service Company when equipment needs repair or adjustment. 10. May perform routine office duties such as reception, placing Radiology orders in RIS, keeping records and processing films when necessary. 1. Scheduling reports form the call center. 2. Monthly review audit by Supervisor for accuracy ( 95%) 3. Staff Meetings attendance 4. Error Review 5. Complaint Review 6. Patient/Staff Feedback 7. Observation Annual Weighting 50% = ________ Score Annual Weighting: 20% _________ Score Additional duties and functions:: 1. Always verifies patient ID, by way of a minimum of Two (2) identifying pieces of patient information from the patient, such as name and D.O.B. 2. Verifies the order by reading written notes, as well as checking for on-line orders. 3. Answers all patient questions, practices good customer service by keeping waiting patients informed about delays when they happen. 4. Practices hospital policy on effective hand hygiene between cases, etc. 5. Helps with other areas in Radiology when assigned or needed.
