Summary:
- The Senior and Clinical Path Lab Analyst provide application support services for laboratory medicine staff. Provide operational expertise and guidance to assist in application implementation, support and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Senior Clinical Analyst-
- Provides complex technical support to professional and technical Laboratory staff.
- Acts as internal consulting resource for Departmental personnel for accessing Laboratory Clinical System Information and interfacing to the LIS.
- Troubleshoots hardware, including printers, terminals and network servers.
- Ensures that the interfaces between systems are properly functioning.
- Researches questions / problems concerning services of the department to determine possible solutions. Determines effective solution or best course of action by reviewing alternatives, considering effect of action/solution upon the department or section.
- Creates and maintains user profiles.
- Maintains system devices through repairs, providing back-ups, relocating, etc.
- Develops and maintains custom reports from clinical data bases.
- Provides test definition information to all foreign systems.
- Assists in maintaining all Anatomic Pathology procedures in the LIS database at a standard consistent with the dynamics of a lab which is constantly bringing on board updated methods and instrumentation.
- Assists in planning, coordinating and testing of all software changes and upgrades.
- Assists in documentation of all system changes, internal policy and procedure documentation.
Clinical Analyst-
- Provides technical support to professional and technical Laboratory staff.

- Assists with Interface testing with IS for any system integrations.
- Develops and maintain custom reports from clinical data bases.
- Assists in planning, coordinating and testing of all software changes and upgrades.
- Assists in design, testing and maintenance of general lab procedures on the various foreign system interfaces throughout the health system.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Senior Clinical Analyst-
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- 3+ years of clinical laboratory experience (Required)
Clinical Analyst-
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience (Required)
Skills/Abilities:
- COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate technical information and ideas
- COMMUNICATION: Demonstrated customer service skills
- COMMUNICATION: Demonstrated interpersonal/verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding of test procedures in the clinical laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement database and operational changes. (Senior Clinical Analyst)
