Summary:
- Under general supervision maintains responsibility for gathering, validating and entering data and maintaining compliance with all regulatory agencies to include but not limited to the Federal Registry, Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN)/United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network 4, etc. May work with projects or programs across the Penn Transplant Institute (PTI) on data provision, reporting, auditing and or 3rd party request for information (RFI) data and assist with the development of processes and workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Retrieve, verify, and enter clinical data from various hospital systems into hospital medical record systems, as needed and appropriate for a non-clinical role.Duties may include, but are not limited to, inputting data needed for patient care, such as: patient evaluation summaries, results of patient’s lab work, studies, and consults. Additional data support may include entering/validating patient demographics, referring MD information, and making corrections as deemed appropriate for a non-clinical role.Facilitate entering patient data into the UNet and/or other systems for compliance.Monitor and report UNet updates to allow department to make timely changes to related systems (i.e. Epic/Phoenix).Support Transplant Quality Team with regulatory monitoring and audits. This includes collecting data for the audits as well as reporting audit results to all levels of transplant leadership.Support data entry and analysis for transplant clinical and operational dashboards, as needed.Work with clinical coordinators to ensure listing in UNOS and hospital medical records match.Actively participate in analysis of workflow activity for the department to ensure processes and protocols are updated.Collaborate with and maintain open communication with transplant staff to facilitate and ensure compliance with departmental goals and objectives.
Credentials:
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- And 2+ years Health Care Work Experience
