Description

Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.Under the direct supervision of Registered Pharmacists, the Pharmacy Intern is responsible for, but not limited to the following tasks: assisting in the preparing and filling of medication orders and medication carts; compounding sterile and non-sterile preparation; distributing medication to patients; performing nursing unit QA inspections; maintaining stock levels in all areas of the hospital.

Must be actively enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy Licensed by the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern within 90 days of hire Must be able to perform dosage calculations Have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel Perform basic office environment tasks; have the aptitude to maintain proficiency in all Pharmacy computer systems, automated dispensing cabinet software and systems, and all technical equipment Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and the Internet Additionally, this person is expected to satisfactorily pass required hospital and government validation examinations Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
