Job Description:

The Occupational Health Center and Travel Medicine Program Medical Assistant is a key member of our team who works in conjunction with physicians, mid-level practitioners, administrative and other clinical staff to provide routine clinical procedures, patient care management, administrative functions, and patient registration in our fast-paced office environment. Candidates with Occupational Medicine experience are encouraged to apply (i.e. Worker’s Compensation, Breath Alcohol Testing, DOT and Non-DOT Urine Drug Screens, Audiometry, Spirometry)

Job Qualifications:

· Diploma or degree from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required at time of hire and certification (CMA or RMA) is required within 3 months of hire

· At least one year of medical office experience is preferred

Job Requirements:

· Clinical: rooming patients, vital signs, reviewing medical history, obtaining lab specimens, assisting with procedures

· Front desk: greeting and registering patients, answering phone, scheduling appointments, copying, faxing

· Arranging radiology services and therapy appointments for patients

· Conducts hearing, vision, pulmonary function (PFT), and EKG testing

· Must be proficient in venipuncture and injections (i.e. Tb testing, immunizations)

· Documentation skills and strong attention to detail

· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with employers, patients, providers, and other colleagues

· Ability to work with all staff members in a cooperative, team-oriented manner

· Must be well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize while seeing multiple patients at once in a fast-paced environment

· Strong computer skills including solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and EMR

· Working knowledge of medical terminology

· Energetic and positive customer-focused approach

· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required

· Ability to float to other clinic in Kennett Square as needed is an expectation
