Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to lead the Advanced Practice Cardiology team. As the Manager of our outstanding APP Cardiology team at PPMC, you will draw on your experience to coach and mentor a team of 30 APPs who manage patients on the electrophysiology, cardiac cath lab, inpatient cardiology and consultative cardiology services. Cardiology is a thriving practice at PPMC, and your expertise and leadership will continue to help drive growth, elevate patient care and further solidify PPMC as a leader in cardiovascular health.

As APP Manager, you will have direct responsibility for the APPs across the continuum and provide daily clinical and operational management for the APPs in support of institutional and departmental missions. Additional responsibilities include workforce planning, recruitment and retention, performance management, human resources needs, quality and operations of the team, budget planning and rectification. This role is split 50/50 between clinical and administrative and is based out of PPMC in Philadelphia.

In this key leadership role, you will function under the guidelines as designed by the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center medical staff guidelines and be credentialed through that body. You will be held accountable through a formal job description, the delineation of privileges and through the agreement with your collaborating physician who has initiated a Collaborative Practice Agreement. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the collaborating physician/division designee within the Human Resource guidelines.

Requirements:

· Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Masters prepared Physician Assistant

· Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of PA

· 3 - 5 years of Cardiology experience. A combination of inpatient and outpatient experience is preferred.

· 2-4 years of progressive leadership/management experience

Additional information:

High level of clinical knowledge regarding all aspects of the care of the cardiology patient

Ability to mentor, manage, and lead staff in a variety of settings (EP, Cath lab, stepdown and outpatient) to provide effective and compliant care and services

Effective communicator with the ability to transfer knowledge (orally and in writing), train and remediate performance issues

Effective at leading change and leading teams

    Schedule: This is primarily a Monday – Friday position but oversees a team that works 7 days a week.
