The Cardiac Surgery service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide inpatient care on the Cardiac Surgery Intermediate Care Unit. This is a population which includes patients of all age groups from young adults through geriatrics who are undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures including; complex valvular and aortic procedures, coronary revascularization, ventricular assist devices, heart transplants, lung transplants and adult congenital surgery.
The Advance Practice Provider will provide quality care across the continuum in collaboration with a supervising physician and be expected to manage patient care autonomously within the scope of their professional practice. The provider will be responsible to perform procedures according to credentialing, provide patient/family teaching, participate in research as applicable, ensure regulatory compliance, document care according to standards, and prescribe in accordance with their collaborative agreement and State regulations.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role also involves participation in the Division’s Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and Unit-Based Clinical Leadership (UBCL).
