This is a unique opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the inpatient Advanced Practice Provider Team caring for our Vascular Surgery patients. The service is covered by Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs) and/or residents/fellows 24/7. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) providing inpatient care in the PACU, on the stepdown unit and on the med/surg floor for patients who are undergoing or who have undergone surgery, from admission through discharge. This position requires a high level of independence but is well supported with collaborative practice and a multi-disciplinary practice model.

The high acuity clinical practice setting is dynamic, fast- paced, and high pressure. Excellent critical thinking skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and strong medical, pharmacology, and medical knowledge are essential.

In this role there will also be professional growth potential and the opportunity to participate in Penn Medicine’s tripartite mission of clinical care, research, and education.

All of our Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners function under the guidelines as designed by the Pennsylvania Hospital medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body.

The PA-C/CRNP hired by the Department of Advanced Practice will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their supervisory/collaborative agreement with their supervising/collaborating physician.
