Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.The Oncology Evaluation Center (OEC) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients referred to the . The OEC APP will provide comprehensive medical care for patients through both direct provision of care and through consultation. The OEC APP will work closely with the ambulatory hem/onc provider team to formulate the optimal medical plan for patients.
The OEC APP will work closely with outpatient Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Phlebotomy, and the OEC RNs to manage patient symptoms and to complete the medical evaluation of those symptoms in the outpatient clinic and infusion areas. The OEC APP will work closely with the Rapid Response Team to best manage patients who are deemed unstable for evaluation in this area following initial evaluation.
When able, the OEC APP will respond to emergencies in the broader Infusion area and will be available for consultation for patients receiving routine care in the infusion area.
Summary:
All CRNPs/PA-C function under the guidelines as designed by the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body. The CRNP/PAs will be held accountable through a formal job description, delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating physician and a Collaborative Practice Agreement. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the collaborating physician/division designee and within the Human Resource guidelines.
