Schedule: M-F 8:30-5

Summary:
Provide bariatric surgery psychological/behavioral assessment (primarily) and psychotherapy services for adult patients in an outpatient setting. Provide clinical supervision to psychology trainees.
Responsibilities:
· Perform bariatric behavioral/psychological assessments for Penn Medicine’s bariatric programs in an ambulatory care setting with a diverse population of adult patients (18+ years of age).
· Evaluate crises and apply appropriate interventions.
· Document the psychological assessment, interventions, and treatment plans in a timely and appropriate manner, to maintain thorough records in compliance with professional standards, and regulatory and insurance requirements.
· Consult and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team at the bariatric program, within CWED, and with our patients’ outside providers clinicians regarding the management and treatment of mental health disorders when indicated.
· Triage and refer patients to other mental health services when appropriate.
· Provide clinical supervision to psychotherapy trainees. This involves the cultivation and development of the next generation of psychotherapists.
· Provide a weekly didactics series to psychology trainees on topics related to weight and eating disorders, psychotherapy, and professional development. .
· Participate in Department quality improvement initiatives and meetings. Identify problems related to patient services and make recommendations for improvement.
· Annual validation of competencies required for the position
