Cash Quality Processor

Job Summary:

  • Preparation and posting of daily cash receipts,
  • Completion of daily transaction logs and payment reports.
  • Loading, verifying and posting of electronic remittances.
  • Identification of unposted cash.
  • Download, review and record eft payments.
  • Record and post PGM- International payments along with Interdepartmental transfers.
  • Research and notify Manager of any unprocessed items.

Responsibilities: 

  • Review daily bank statement and record EFT payments for assigned payers and record and maintain totals on monthly spread sheets.
  • Load/posting electronic remittances using the system in place for Hospital, EPIC, payments from various commercial and manage care payers.
  • Balancing, downloading and saving posting reports and completing transfer reports for the reclass of funds.
  • Review payer websites to obtain eobs for manual items and apply payments.
  • Research any unprocessed items and notify Manager of any issues.
  • Review and process PGM deposits and Transfer requests.
  • Maintain and balances PGM Audit and Deposit reports.
  • Utilizes Business track to research, record, and report credit card disputes.
  • Utilize the Hospital, EPIC, system to review and process Interdepartmental payments.
  • Research, process, and address NSF transactions.
  • Complete/maintain appropriate logs and documents.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.

Education and Experience: 

  • H.S Diploma/ GED (Required).
  • Experience in healthcare settings and computerized medical systems (Preferred).
  • Experience in electronical data reconciliation (Preferred).

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to use Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated project managements skills: including but not limited to operation with limited direction. 
  • Ability to multi-task and high-level attention to detail.
  • Ability to implement process improvements X Work independently and as a team player.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to follow issues to resolution.
