Supervisor HB Cash Posting

Job Summary:

  • The Supervisor is responsible for initiating the daily workflow of the Cash department by pulling reports and creating spreadsheets to distribute workflow to team members. Supervisor will ensure that all representatives are balanced at end of day. Supervisor enters day end posted cash into Penn Cash so that it populates the GL. Supervisor works with other departments to identify and distribute funds that came into the various bank accounts in error. Supervisor will be responsible for the training of new hires and cross training of current employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor activities of HUP cash posting teams. Responsible for supervising staff. Overseeing staff productivity; ensuring staff work is evaluated for quality on a regular basis and implements procedures to improve staff efficiency and standardization of work duties.
  • Training for new tasks and continually update any changes for current tasks when necessary.
  • Supervise team reviewing and resolving EPIC reports.
  • Creates the EFT/ACH spread sheet utilizing the bank statement and check spread sheets to ensure team members recorded correctly- notifies Manager of any discrepancies.
  • Optimizes use of Penn Chart system; acquires and maintains a working knowledge of how best the Penn Chart system can be utilized for cash management; maintains certification to use all applicable features in the Penn Chart system.
  • Keeps Manager updated on any issues that occur during workday.
  • Performs these and other duties as assigned to support the unit, department or entity in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures while utilizing internal controls and tracking mechanisms in accordance with Penn Medicine Accounting Control Standards.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required).
    • 3+ years of experience with computerized medical systems, including EPIC (Required).

    Skills & Abilities: 

    • Ability to troubleshoot, research and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Demonstrated supervisory skills; including but not limited to operating with limited direction, ability to multi-task and high-level attention to detail.
    • Ability to implement process improvements.
    • Work independently and as a team player.
    • Strong customer service orientation and ability to follow issues to resolution.
