Full Time- Day Shift
The Research Procurement Technician is responsible for acquisition of medications, supplies and clinical trial materials as required to support the operations of the department; receipt and proper inventory and storage of materials; shipping of material to other clinical sites or to study participants; transfer of materials between locations; and chargeback of purchase costs to individual clinical trials. The highest degree of accuracy and attention to detail is expected of this position. Additionally, the Research Procurement Technician is responsible for compliance with regulations, policies and study protocols when performing the duties of the position.
Evaluate and monitor inventory for clinical trials to ensure that drug is available as needed for enrolled patients • Maintain inventory records for research and non-research medications and supplies • Develop purchase orders and work with the ITMAT business office for required equipment and supplies • Provide cost information as required for investigational protocol budgets • Competency in research technician workflows to provide cross coverage as needed • Proficient in ordering systems including drug wholesaler, university purchasing system and any study specific software • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.
H.S. Diploma/GED, required. And 3 to 5 years Pharmacy Technician experience, required. Bachelor's Degree Science preferred but not required. Prior experience with inventory management and control, preferred. CPhT certification required.
