Job Summary
The Director of Strategic Performance and Operations Improvement is a key contributor in the development and execution of strategic initiatives and transformation programs by:
- Consulting with executive team and operational leaders to identify priorities and opportunities to execute imperatives
- Partners with executive leadership on implementing strategic imperative using structured methodologies
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in daily operations and assisting in the implementation
- Implement short-term strategic and operations projects with a team of strategic advisors/consultants, process improvement experts, and/or project managers
- Provide advanced data analysis to identify opportunities, correlations, and trends
- Develop a strategy to identify opportunities for collaboration with Penn Medicine departments, hospitals, and entities along the continuum of care
Leads the vision and strategy for a robust process improvement program by:
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in daily operations based on data and business need
- Continuous development and delivery of the process improvement training strategy at UPHS
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards surrounding Performance Improvement
Responsibilities
- Implements strategic initiatives in collaboration with leadership executives
- Identifies and implements improvements in daily operations
- Builds and leads a team of strategic advisors/consultants, process improvement experts, and/or project managers to implement projects
- Grows team members by creating opportunities for career development
- Provides education, coaching, and mentoring to staff, developing Six Sigma yellow, green, and black belts within the department and organization
- Develops a strategy to infiltrate a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards surrounding Performance Improvement
Credentials
- Six Sigma Black Belt (Required)
- Master Black Belt Lean Six Sigma (Preferred)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelors Degree: (Required)
- Education Specialization: Business, Healthcare Administration, Engineering Equivalent Experience
- And 15+ years of Progressive management/leadership experience and process improvement
OR
- Masters Degree: (Required)
- Education Specialization: Business, Healthcare Administration, Engineering Equivalent Experience
- And 10+ years of Progressive management/leadership experience and process improvement
