Coordinates activities related to the transportation of patients and communicate information to internal and external customers. Receives transport calls from various sources and assists in the triaging and prioritizing of requests to ensure a timely response. Utilizes the transport module of the PennChart Epic System to dispatch requests for transport services

  Responds to telephone and electronic transport requests in a professional and courteous manner Assigns transportation staff in a timely manner by following priority guidelines Modifies request priorities to ensure timely response, pages or calls transporters when time is exceeded for status Resolve transportation support issues Communicates with the department management team regarding appropriate transportation activity levels Dispatches transportation staff and equipment to rapid response, code calls, and stroke alerts Guides others in the use of Epic Transportation system Monitors timeliness of patient transportation and responds appropriately to delays in service, addresses safety nets for transport delays High customer service standards through appropriate customer communication and issue resolution Assists in training new employees, records absences for payroll on staffing sheets Stewardship of the department and hospital’s equipment, uses RDIF to track all equipment Monitors and maintains all equipment including phones, pagers, wheelchairs, etc. Follows established infection control, departmental, hospital, and safety policies and procedures Performs duties of a Transporter as needed
