At the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the Anesthesia Tech Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of all activities of the Anesthesia Techs on their shift. The Supervisor assists in the management of staff, including the screening of applicants, completion of performance evaluations, and is responsible for the compliance of competencies and continued education. Additionally, the Supervisor will assist in developing staff training programs, lead staff in-services, and assist in overseeing the management of related supplies and equipment.
This position directly reports to the Anesthesia Tech Manager and frequently interfaces with the Anesthesia Director of Perioperative Services. The Supervisor will ensure that the technicians adequately pick supplies, turnover OR’s and anesthesia work spaces, and communicate with the providers.
The incumbent should display excellent communication skills and will interface with PeriOp staff and management. They will also provide direction and support to the anesthesia providers, replenishment of anesthesia supplies, and completion of daily Anesthesia Technician duties.
Requirements
· H.S. Diploma/GED required.
· 5+ years Prior experience as an anesthesia tech preferred
· 2+ years' Experience as a lead or supervisor required.
· CPR required
· Certified Anesthesia Technician, preferred.
