The Hematology-Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) will function as part of a dynamic team in providing care to cancer patients within the Hematology-Oncology Division at the Abramson Cancer Center. The APP will provide care to patients both independently and in collaboration with MDs within the division, coordinate multi-specialty care, and provide patient/family education and support throughout a cancer diagnosis.
The Hematology-Oncology APP will work closely with physicians, nursing staff and other members of the cancer center care team; the APP will perform histories, physical exams, and procedures in accordance with credentialing, and provide complex oncology care and patient/family education. The APP will also participate in research as appropriate, ensure regulatory compliance, document care according to standards, and prescribe therapeutic interventions in accordance with the collaborative/supervisory agreement and state regulations.
The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible to promote organizational values of patient and visitor satisfaction by demonstrating courtesy and respect for all their families, visitors, and other employees. Cares for patients in all age groups from young adults through geriatrics. Demonstrates competence in the assessment, treatment, and care of patients served. Oncology experience strongly preferred.
