Summary:
- The Patient and Family Experience Education Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and performing patient and family experience educational programing and activities within the Patient Experience Department to achieve optimal patient care and departmental outcomes. This employee will ensure high quality patient experience education through integration of philosophy, professional activities, and education provided to patients. In collaboration with the Director of Patient Experience and Magnet Programs, and other members within and outside of the Patient Experience Department evaluates and designs educational programs for inpatients, ambulatory patients, members of the community and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and evaluates patient and family experience educational programs in collaboration with departmental leadership.
- Engage in continuous process improvement to ensure programming meets patient/family needs
- Assists with providing patient/family experience education including but not limited to: participants of the HUP Harvest and Food for Health programs, multidisciplinary students who have clinical rotations at HUP Harvest, patient and guest relations department, family centered care, and patient education programming.
- Support community engagement activities of the department.
- Provide input to Patient Family Experience Leaders across HUP on opportunities for improvement
- Support organizational health literacy efforts
- Support Patient and Guest Relations department regularly to help drive quality metrics in that department
Credentials:
- Project Management Professional Certification
- CAPM, PMP, or Six Simga preferred
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required) with Education Specialization:
Healthcare, business management or a related field
Equivalent Experience, with 5+ years healthcare experience, 3+ years patient education experience and 2+ years program development/process improvement experience.
