The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) is seeking a Schedgistration Quality Assurance Specialist.
Summary:
- The Schedgistration Quality Assurance Spec (SQAS) is responsible for conducting a quality review of all registration workflows, to include, but not limited to having a thorough understanding of frontend & backend associated technologies, partnering with and among developers, designers, product managers, users & clients to ensure optimal work flows and end results. The individual will communicate with various interdisciplinary teams to ensure work flow challenges are efficiently and accurately addressed, to include upgrades or fixes, ensuring there is minimal interruption to business as usual. As an ambiguity specialist, the SQAS must consistently review internal processes, demonstrate an understanding of and ability to implement various testing concepts, workflows, tools, and techniques, conducts research to support audit exceptions and resolve issues, establish a culture of learning, trial and error and open-mindedness. To optimize the prevention of the occurrence of errors during a process, the individual has to demonstrate a concrete understanding of how the systems works from an end user's point of view. The SQAS will manage all registration workflow implementations while averting a negative impact on patient care services and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Control: Develop and implement workflow testing procedures, diagrams and documentation. Evaluate and where necessary upgrade/revise registration workflows and data entry performance expectations. Identify and correct common registration errors and identify location(s) where performance improvement is needed through re-education and/or training.
- Analyze, Trend, Recommend, Implement Perform complex analysis, (to include designing and workflow) to ensure optimal performance and operational goals are met. Recommend and implement workflow improvements. Analyze, Trend and Recommend improvements based on data and reports. Review data across entities to ensure process integration and improved enterprise performance
- Continuous Improvement Communicate with End Users to correct errors. Respond to calls received through the queue line, email requests, fax requests and Athena tickets in a timely, professional and thorough manner. Provide feedback and follow up as necessary. Evaluate coverage accuracy.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in Hospital Registration and Insurance
- 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance (Preferred)
