Summary:
- Support and maintain the current UPHS Business Objects and Crystal Reporting environment. This will include tier 1 support, migration to new systems and development. Business Object reporting and configuration will be required for various business partners within the health system. Business Object migration to upgraded systems, reporting and system performance monitoring required. Manages a multiple server enterprise BO/Crystal environment; migrating existing BO/Crystal instances into the enterprise environment; applying and managing upgrades to the BO/Crystal environment; work closely with IS and business areas whose reporting is delivered on this platform 24x7 Support for the Business Objects Crystal Reporting environment will be required.
- Train resources and developers to ensure they follow best practices when developing reports and dashboard. Define, monitor and enforce processes and procedures throughout UPHS deployment. Become the main contact in handling Business Objects requests.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Administration: Manage monitoring and administration of multiple BI environments to ensure continuous system availability and optimal performance. Perform complex BI platform upgrades, ensuring that the platform is on a supported version and taking advantage of the latest features. Adhere to best practices as outlined by appropriate vendors (Microsoft, Epic, etc.) Define and measure KPIs and business impacts of upgrades and feature additions.
- Support and Oversight: Provide support and oversight to developers and business stakeholders utilizing the BI platform. Communicate with vendors to troubleshoot, as needed. Manage troubleshooting and issue resolution related to BI tools, reports, and data queries.
- Deployment Management: Perform complex code migration across environments, ensuring consistency and reliability in reporting and analytics. Coordinate with development teams to streamline the code promotion process.
- Security: Supervise implementation and management of robust security measures for the BI platform to safeguard sensitive healthcare data. Ensure compliance with data security and healthcare privacy regulations. Conduct regular security audits and implement necessary enhancements.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Create customized reports, dashboards, and visualizations using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, etc.) to present performance and capacity data of the BI platform to leadership.
- Data Governance and Quality: Establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of healthcare data used for business intelligence purposes. Collaborate with data management and other relevant teams to implement data quality assurance processes and resolve data integrity issues.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and develop solutions that meet organizational needs. Engage with senior leadership, executives, and key stakeholders to communicate BI platform strategies, solicit feedback, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Mentors more junior members of the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in BI platform administration and monitoring. Look for opportunities to optimize the team’s processes and workflows.

Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor's degree. (Required)
- 3+ years of experience in Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field, with experience in healthcare data analytics or a related field. Proven track record of leading and executing moderately complex projects with minimal oversight. (Required)
- Epic Clarity or Caboodle Certification (must be completed within six months of start). (Preferred)
Skills/Abilities:
- Subject Matter Expertise – Expert in business intelligence tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, etc.) and advanced analytics platforms (e.g., R, Python). Strong understanding of security best practices, data governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare data management and privacy. Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for business stakeholders. Applies knowledge to solve problems and contribute ideas to team strategy.
- Analytical thinking – Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
