Summary:
- Position Summary- Under the general direction the DAQA Manager and the Patient Access Manager, the job of a PAC training coordinator is to communicate with team leads and supervisors to identify the training requirements used for new hire, refresher, informational, and performance improvement purposes within the PAC. The training coordinator is responsible for the development, management, and coordination of educational shadowing and documentation. This includes monitoring activities and participating in ongoing calibration and feedback sessions with supervisor and manager.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Patient Access Center training and performance improvement goals: collaborate with staff to develop a means of enhancing registration accuracy and workflow while improving patient experience. Maintain standards of confidentiality. Participate in regulatory and compliance established standards.
- Ensure new hires are enrolled in correct training classes and are assigned shoulder to shoulder training as needed. Ensure provisioning is completed timely for access to PennChart.
- Disseminates information throughout the PAS departments to include training and development sessions with staff this will include onboarding of new hires and sharing of Schedgistration updates.
- Develop documentation as needed. This may include spreadsheets and tip sheets.
- Collaborate with the Director and Managers to determine appropriate prioritization of activities. Report issues and escalate to management as needed.
- Oversee the Notice of Admission process and regulatory forms capture by daily audits of work queues or email communications and assignments.
- Superior writing skills related to informational and instructional material, including the ability to present content in a non-paragraph/non-linear way.
- Adheres to a consistent set of standards and a proven instructional/informational design methodology.
- Leads and/or facilitates meetings.
- Maintain standards of confidentiality and participate in unit compliance as related to established standards.
- Analyze and report on performance metrics.
- Make presentations to groups of various sizes.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Credentials:
- National Association of Healthcare Access Management (Preferred)
- CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manager) certification within 1 year of Employment.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Preferred)
- Education Specialization: Training Experience preferred
- Equivalent Experience: 3+ years Rev Cycle training experience.
