Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) has an Leadership opportunity for a Lead EEG Technologist to join the Neurology team and work alongside some of the best medical providers in Philadelphia.

Summary:

  • The Lead EEG Technologists will work with the Neurology Medical Director at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center to provide guidance to the EEG Technologist providing patient care in both an inpatient and outpatient testing setting. This role will provide support to the daily operations of the lab including staffing, technology, policies, training and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient care to neurology patients.
    Assists with training and education of staff and fellows as assigned by Physicians and Assistant Vice President.
    Serves as the liaison for the department to the physician leadership of the EEG Lab and for the system.
    Supports the technology needs of the department and participates in the monthly information services meeting.
    Works with the staff to develop daily and on call schedules.
    Ensures that staff in the lab are trained and maintain core competencies and service standards.
    Serves as the primary contact with schools to provide clinical rotations experience for EEG student.

Credentials:

  • Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (Required)
  • AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Certificate of Completion from Approved Radiation Therapy Technology Program required
  • Associate of Arts or Science and a Minimum of 7 years prior work experience as an EEG Technologist
  • Completion of an accredited EEG school program required
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science preferred
  • Will consider prior 5+ years of work experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
Essential Skills/Abilities:

Organizational and interpersonal skills essential 
Functions autonomously with limited intervention needed
Maturity and ability to establish good rapport with patients, families, staff and public

Familiarity of data collection and presentation
Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
Strong knowledge of the field and ability to teach others
