Why Join Our Team?
- Penn Medicine Princeton Health (PMPH) is seeking a per diem RN (Registered Nurse) to work the day shift within Princeton House Behavioral Health (PHBH). This is a float position.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains a plan of nursing care based on goals derived from identified needs; revises the patients individualized plan of care as indicated
- Implements individualized nursing plan of care, consistent with established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing care, and participates in evaluating and improving the delivery of care on the unit
- Demonstrates accuracy in entering medication orders on the computer and medication administration
- Provides appropriate coordination of care and intervention to patients undergoing a psychiatric or medical emergency
Scheduling Requirements (Tier 3):
- Work a minimum of 56 hours (7 days) per four-week schedule
- 24 of these hours must be fulfilled on a weekend shift
- Work two holiday per calendar year. Per Diem RNs will be paid at 1.5 times the rate for all hours worked on these holidays.
- Based on your hired shift, work at least two ‘difficult to staff’ days per calendar year (Easter, Mother’s Day, Halloween, ‘Black Friday’, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Valentine’s Day or New Year’s Eve)
- Follow departmental call-out policy
- Make-up absences within the same schedule period. Failure to comply with this on two occasions in a year will result in withdrawal of the employee from Per Diem status.
- Scheduled as per the needs of your individual unit
What We Require for this Role:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, or in pursuit of
- A registered nurse with an Associate’s Degree with greater than 5 years of clinical experience in a clinical specialty may be considered.
Related Work Experience
- 15 months of RN experience required
- Psych experience preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Active RN NJ license
