Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.General Job Description: The Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (CCNP) is a member of the Intensivist care team and is responsible for co-management of the critically ill complex patients in an Intensive Care Unit setting. The CCNP works collaboratively with the ICU Intensivist or designated alternative physician. The CCNP has specialized skills and knowledge related to the ICU setting, and performs physical exams, collects and analyzes data, formulates medical diagnoses, performs approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications and provides direct patient care. The CCNP also assumes a leadership role in the Rapid Response Team and Code Blue Team. The CCNP contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and providing leadership to the organization and nursing profession.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Bachelors
and Masters Degree in nursing required. Completion of ACNP post masters program strongly preferred if not specialty.
Experience: Five years as an RN with at least three years in Critical Care
Degrees/Licensure/
Certifications: Current licensure as a RN in the state of PA.
Current licensure as a CRNP in the state of PA
National Certification as an NP within 3 months of employment
Acute Care Certification strongly preferred
BCLS, ACLS Certification
AHA Stroke Scale Certification
FCCS certification prior to or within 1 year of employment
Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing
requirements of Chester County Critical Care Associates, and the
Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
