As a member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the primary purpose of this position is to function as a full-scope Nurse Practitioner providing independent care and collaborative complex care management within the OBGYN Academic Specialist Division. The Nurse Practitioner in this position will provide direct clinical care and support to the multidisciplinary Center for Integrate Fibroid Care and the OBGYN Academic Specialist Division. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting telehealth and in person visits, determining clinical needs, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing and imaging, performing in-office procedures, making referrals to surgical providers, providing direct complex gynecological care and medical management. The Department is seeking an experienced Gynecologic Nurse Practitioner.
Consistent with the OBGYN Department mission to “Lead the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology by improving health equity and ensuring excellence in patient care, education and research, while fostering a culture of innovation, patient centeredness and connectivity, the Nurse Practitioner in this role will work with a multidisciplinary team to achieve Department and program goals. The Nurse Practitioner will also support the education and research mission of the entity by participating in student clinical preceptorship and research activities of the Department.
All CRNPs function under the guidelines as designed by the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body. The CRNP will be held accountable through a formal job description, delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating physician and a Collaborative Practice Agreement. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the collaborating physician/division designee, and within the Human Resource guidelines. The Nurse Practitioner contributes to excellence in education, leadership, professional contribution and practice.
