Join our growing team of 45+ APPs who provide 24/7 care to patients with hematological malignancies. The Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. We welcome applications from Master's-prepared Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

 4 Subservices:

Acute Leukemia, Lymphoma/Myeloma/Autologous Transplant, Allogeneic Transplant, CART/Cellular Therapy

Autonomous Rounding Structure: 

Supported by oncologists and hospitalists

APP Roles in this Position Include:

Covering Provider: Patient Ratios 8:1 Day, 16:1 Night, 12-13:1 Weekend Day 

APP Coordinator: Responsible for admissions, transfers, coordination of care & procedures.

Procedures include bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, and intrathecal chemotherapy administration 

Flexible Schedule, Including Seniority Perks: 

12-hour shifts, rotating 50% days/nights and every 3rd weekend until 3 years off orientation, decreases with seniority, no nights required after 5 years 

2 holidays/year, 2 on call weekends/year

Comprehensive Orientation:

For new-to-practice and experienced APPs, including service specific competencies and education, as well as chemotherapy certification

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality care to patients with complex hematologic and oncologic conditions. The position involves rotating night and day shifts, offering a dynamic and rewarding clinical environment.

Inpatient Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider Service: Join us in caring for patients with hematologic malignancies and complex co-morbid conditions. Work with an elite team of committed advanced practice providers and collaborating physicians in the care of this special patient population. Care for patients undergoing aggressive chemotherapy treatments, stem cell transplantation, and cellular therapy. Be at the forefront of oncologic research and innovative care. Utilize your education and experience to maximize oncology care in this exciting, fast-paced environment.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, while providing quality care across the continuum in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and other members of the care team, performs histories, physicals, and procedures according to credentialing, and provide care and patient/family teaching following the nursing process. Also participates in research as appropriate, ensures regulatory compliance, documents care according to standards, and prescribes in accordance with the collaborative agreement and State regulations.

Qualifications: 

  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Master's Degree - Required
  • Current licensure or eligibility in the Commonwealth of PA and eligibility for credentialing by the medical board
  • Oncology experience as a Nurse or as a Provider preferred. New graduates will be considered on an individual basis.
  • This individual will work full time 36 hours/ week. Role includes weekends, nights, and holidays.
