Schedule: Full Time 

Summary:

  • Provides medical record clerk functions including: processing medical records requests, scanning documents, archiving and retrieving charts, verifying information in medical records, responding to patient portal and EMR messages, preparing dictated letters, sorting and distributing mail and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

  • Archive and retrieve charts for medical records requests. Process medical records requests according to protocol. Scan documents into the appropriate folder in the electronic medical record (EMR), avoiding duplication of entries. Retrieve and edit transcription documents before mailing and scanning into the chart. Scan patient information such as lab results, diagnostic test results, consults, etc. in a timely manner to ensure results are available for clinical staff whenever necessary. Retrieve and sort mail daily before delivering to physicians and staff.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • High School diploma
