Position Summary:
Pennsylvania Hospital is currently seeking a PRN Unit Clerk on 7 Cathcart, a Med/Surg Unit. The Unit Clerk is an integral member of the patient care team who delivers quality care through collaboration and communication with team members. Will work under the direct supervision of the nurse manager and the registered nurse to support the clerical and secretarial operations of the patient care unit. Responsible for key clerical functions and communication between the patient care team and patients/families. This role emphasizes the integration of clerical activities, health information record processing, hospitality and receptionist activities, and business service functions, incorporating organizational competencies of superior quality care and assuming responsibility and accountability for their role performance outcomes while supporting Pennsylvania Hospital’s Relationship Based Care Model.
    7-Cathcart/7-Preston is a 60-bed medical-surgical unit that cares for a variety of post-operative surgical patients and patients with neurological conditions. Our staff provide direct care and education to patients following upper and lower joint repairs and replacements, neurosurgical procedures ranging from laminectomies and fusions to deep brain stimulator insertions in Parkinson’s Disease patients, bariatric surgery, and patients recently experiencing a stroke.

    Minimum Requirements:
    The qualified candidate must be a high school graduate or have an equivalency diploma. Post high school education, which includes computer courses and medical terminology, is preferred.
