The Hospital University of Pennsylvania is looking for Per Diem Clinical Nurse within the Medical Cardio Exercise Lab. The Clinical Nurse in the Medical Cardio Lab performs stress tests and provides conscious sedation for patients undergoing transesophageal echocardiograms under MD supervision. We provide care to both outpatients and inpatients and collaborate closely with our echo sonographers and physicians.
The PRN/Clinical Nurse II operates as the primary and/or associate nurse within the professional practice model demonstrating the core values of the UPHS to ensure an excellent patient experience.
Utilizing the Nursing Process in the planning and delivery of care, tasks include, but are not limited to coordinating patient care, demonstrating safe practice, developing a nurse-patient/family relationship, applying clinical leadership and problem solving. The Clinical Nurse II complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies, and maintains a safe level of knowledge and skill with technical procedures.
Performance will be assessed within the following areas: clinical judgment and decision-making, nurse-patient/family relationship, clinical leadership and clinical scholarship. Opportunities for advancement exist as competency is developed and skills are mastered.
Minimum Requirements:
-BSN and a current PA RN licensure, ACLS certification, -BLS certification and more than one year of professional experience as a nurse is required.
-Additionally, this candidate must have the ability to work and concentrate in an environment with multiple simultaneous such as phone, computers, monitor alarms and call lights. Must be able to hear equipment auditory sounds and alarms. Must be able to see computer screens, digital displays and monitor tracings. Must be able to develop proficiency in the operation of clinical equipment/machines and computers found in patient care setting.
