The Hematology-Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will function as part of a dynamic team in providing care to cancer patients within the Hematology-Oncology Division at the Abramson Cancer Center. The APP will provide care to patients both independently and in collaboration with MDs within the division, coordinate multi-specialty care, and provide patient/family education and support throughout the cancer trajectory.
The Hematology-Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, while providing quality care across the continuum in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and other members of the care team, performs histories, physical exams, and procedures in accordance with credentialing, and provides complex oncology care and patient/family education. The APP will also participate in research as appropriate, ensures regulatory compliance, documents care according to standards, and prescribes in accordance with the collaborative/supervisory agreement and state regulations.
The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible to promote organizational values of patient and visitor satisfaction by demonstrating courtesy and respect for all their families, visitors, and other employees. Cares for patients in all age groups from young adults through geriatrics. Demonstrates competence in the assessment, treatment, and care of patients served. Oncology experience strongly preferred.
