Performs clinical laboratory analyses including extraction and Next-Generation Sequencing library preparation on various specimen types. Produces and documents accurate laboratory results for diagnosis and treatment of disease. Contributes to periodic lab maintenance. Adheres to Penn Medicine’s policies and procedures and conforms to all safety practices. Maintains specified laboratory documents required by various accreditation agencies. Maintains the confidentiality of health information on all patients.
B.S. degree in Molecular Biology or B.S. degree in a chemical or biological science with academic credits that meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing. Master’s Degree and more than one year of demonstrated experience with Next-Generation Sequencing preferred. A minimum of two years lab experience in a non-classroom laboratory setting required. Clinical lab experience preferred. Knowledge of, and ability to manage, the general hazards encountered when working with potentially infectious materials, hazardous chemicals, radioisotopes and laboratory equipment
