Summary:
The Patient Care Technician delivers patient care that is both patient and family centered. Incorporates team focused, collegial relationships to ensure patient safety and improve outcomes. Maintains organizational competencies of superior quality care, critical thinking and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates accountability to the patient, family, self and the healthcare team. Provides superior quality care and assumes responsibility and accountability for their role in performance outcomes while supporting Pennsylvania Hospital’s Relationship Based Care Model.
7-Cathcart/7-Preston is a 60-bed medical-surgical unit that cares for a variety of post-operative surgical patients and patients with neurological conditions. Our staff provide direct care and education to patients following upper and lower joint repairs and replacements, neurosurgical procedures ranging from laminectomies and fusions to deep brain stimulator insertions in Parkinson’s Disease patients, bariatric surgery, and patients recently experiencing a stroke.
Minimum Requirements:
The qualified candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a current CPR certification is required. Must have current CNA Certification or must be a Nursing Student with at least one Medical-Surgical rotation completed through an accredited College or University.
