This is a full time Day shift opportunity.
The ideal candidate will be available to work:The MNO (Medical, Neurology, Oncology) unit is a 36 bed unit with 4 long term epilepsy (EEG) beds located on the 4th floor (East Side) of the Atkinson Pavilion. The MNO unit has multiple sub-specialties (neurology, oncology, and psychiatry). It has a specialized focus on stroke, seizures, epilepsy, and other neurological conditions; as well as oncology which includes the administration of chemotherapy; and behavioral patients who are being admitted for medical conditions including but not limited to: bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, depression, PTSD, eating disorders and alcohol and opioid withdrawal. Some of these patients are involuntarily committed hence requiring a one-to-one observation. The unit also provides care to all other medical andsurgical inpatients with tracheostomy, chest tubes, pleurx catheter, wound vac, and central lines such as chest ports. The unit has 4 long-term epilepsy (EEG) beds and these patients are usually admitted for medication changes or adjustments. The unit also provides telemetry monitoring on all stroke/TIA patients. Because of the multiple sub-specialties, nurses are required to meet mandatory competencies such as ACLS, stroke scale certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), and chemotherapy competency.
