Administrative leader, business/operations partner to inpatient physician leadership including Vice Chairs of Clinical Operations and Quality, Neuro-hospitalist Division Chief, Stroke Division Chief and Neuro-Critical Care Division Chief.

Responsibilities include oversight of all staff and 24/7 operations for all physicians (e.g., staffing, managing of jeopardy system, etc.). Focus on operational and financial accountabilities across a multi-site hospital (HUP, PPMC, PAH, Telemedicine) neurology inpatient program. This includes, but is not limited to relationship building (and maintenance) with administrative and physician leadership across entities and divisions. This individual will play a central role in quality, operational effectiveness and patient safety efforts across Department of Neurology inpatient clinical services. This individual will lead implementation of system wide programs, inpatient clinical planning and collaboration for the Department of Neurology to ensure continuity and alignment of organizational goals and workflow across inpatient operations.



o Leads all hospital medicine clinical and staff operations in partnership with Section Chief with a focus on consistent cross-site programmatic operations

o Oversight of physician scheduling and monitoring

o Accountability for service coverage

o Real-time scheduling changes

o Surge on-demand management

o Identifies strategic growth opportunities and develops operational plans and budgets

o Leads planning for all physician-APP services

o Leadership to ensure strategic growth, sustainability and performance optimization

o Leads strategic planning for emergency staffing (e.g., staff or physician vacancy, short and long-term leaves, etc.)

o Guides implementation and updates of technology tools such as Qgenda

o Analysis and streamlining of inpatient admission and discharge processes

o Help develop materials to distribution (e. g. PowerPoint presentations, newsletters, spreadsheets, reports etc.).

· Financial Accountability

o Oversees all neurology inpatient moonlighting, tracks and reports activities and costs to

· Quality

o Data Management - leads the development of dashboards for monthly quality report which tracks changes in LOS, readmissions, patient experience and other quality metrics

o Oversees efforts to improve optimal billing practices and monitoring of trends for group and individual basis

o Oversees data-driven initiatives of inpatient clinical practices to align with entity and health system strategic priorities

o Support the achievement of annual quality and safety and departmental goals include but not limited to RRI

o Support specific QI, QA projects - assist with the design, implementation and monitoring of neurology quality improvement projects.

o Design and maintain project updates cataloguing Neurology quality improvement projects and activities.

o Works with clinical effectiveness team physician leaders to implement and sustain safety event analyses

o Understands regulatory compliance issues which affect the system and department, including OSHA, DCF, TJC, EEOC, CDC, AHCA, etc. and ensures that department and personnel maintain compliance at all times.

Strategic Planning

o Coordinates efforts of in alliance participation (Virtua/OLOL, Grandview, etc.)

o Assist in resource management and planning between workgroups as needed

· Meetings and Leadership

o Monthly attendance at CEQI meetings

Administrative Support

      • Schedule appointments and meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes and provide and other supporting materials for the inpatient and quality improvement teams. Make detailed arrangements for meetings and seminars sponsored by the department including: room scheduling, procurement of refreshments, set up of audio-visual aids, communications, assisting guest speakers, and any other related details.
      • Plan and staff regular team meetings
      • Develop and manage department distribution lists and broadcast important email communications regarding inpatient and/or quality initiatives.

      Education or Equivalent Experience:

      • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
      • healthcare administration or related field 3+ years experience in healthcare administration. Additional years of experience could serve as proxy for degree
      • Master of Arts or Science
      • healthcare administration or related field
