The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) Microbiology Lab is looking for a Lead Medical Technologist (Evening Shift) to join the team. The Lead Medical Technologist performs a variety of routine and special laboratory tests and procedures accurately and completely, and exercises professional judgment to determine the acceptability of results prior to release to the patient records. Will perform quality control testing according to established protocol and executing corrective action.


    • MT (ASCP) or other equivalent certification preferred

      Education or Equivalent Experience: 

      • B.S. degree in Medical Technology or B.S. degree in a chemical or biological science with academic credits that meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing.
      •  Knowledge of, and ability to manage, the general hazards encountered when working with potentially infectious materials, hazardous chemicals, radioisotopes and laboratory equipment.
