Greets and screens patients, visitors and vendors at the main entrance of the Medical Center and Emergency Department. Serves as initial point of contact for guests by anticipating their needs and offering information or assistance as needed. Responsibilities also include assisting patients and visitors by rounding in the Emergency Department.

Essential JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.

Greets and screens patients, visitors, and vendors upon arrival at the Medical Center

2.

 
Responds to guest inquiries in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner

3.

 
Accesses patient room information using Penn Chart

4.

 
Answers telephones promptly and courteously

5.

 
Assists patients and visitors by rounding in the Emergency Department as assigned

Offers directions or escorts individuals to their destination at the Medical Center

6.

 
Contacts departments as needed regarding visitor arrivals, deliveries or other inquiries

7.

Addresses needs of disabled patients and visitors, including services for the blind and interpretation services for language or sign language.

8.

Contacts ancillary areas if assistance is needed with a patient or visitor

9.

Assists out-of-town visitors with questions relative to local restaurants, hotels, and services.

Maintains standards of patient confidentiality 

Required Education:

HS/GED Required

Experience:

2-4 Years of related experience
