The Department Secretary assists with office operations including clerical functions, record-keeping systems, department projects and administrative assistance. 


  • Assists in preparing correspondence and reports ensuring they are done carefully and completely. 
  • Maintains office files and records according to established office guidelines. 
  •  Assists with financial record keeping especially uniform deposits to the cashier. 
  • Oversees project components for annual recognition events. 
  • Prepares monthly and annual statistical reports according to established office guidelines. 
  • Consistently relate to people in warm and friendly manner. 
  • Organize and provide direction to others 
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment. 
  • Work with and relate to individuals of diverse backgrounds 
  • Handle multiple demands and maintain current schedules, priorities, etc. 
  • Communicate information in a clear and accurate manner. 
  • Manage time effectively. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

    Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency is required. Previous experience in secretarial and/or reception duties is required. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
