Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.The Ultrasound Radiographer is responsible for performing all Ultrasound examinations. The primary purpose of this position is to perform, coordinate, and supervise patient testing services.
1.Reviews schedule, patient clinical information and physician orders to prior to any procedure.
2.Operates all equipment using proper techniques and patient positioning to produce high quality images meeting competency and quality assurance requirements.
3.Interacts with patients in a respectful and professional manner – verifying identifications, explaining the procedure and performing the exam as ordered.
4.Aids radiologists, doctors and other team members in completing procedures according to applicable protocol.
5.Is proficient and stays competent in the cleaning and preparing of probes via Trophon and infection Control protocols and policies
6.Effectively uses software systems for both clinical and non-clinical functions. This includes but is not limited to RIS, PACs, EMR, Time and Attendance, electronic forms, and others.
7.Compliance with OSHA, TJC, PA Dept of Health and other mandated safety procedures or regulations.
8.Maintains necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation(s), rotating stock in an orderly fashion and eliminating outdated items
9.Participates in the clinical education of Ultrasound students as appropriate. Works with students in a professional and supportive manner to facilitate learning.
10.Monitors the patient’s status, tolerance and wellbeing throughout and after the study. Responds to emergency situations according to department policies
11.Establishes and maintains good working relationships and partnerships within the facility and with outside customers and vendors.
12.Appropriately manages results; calling STATs in a timely manner and managing others as determined by the Radiologists and department policy.
Credentials and Education requirements:
Must be certified Vascular (RVT) within 1 year of hire
