Position Description: 

The Unit Clerk must be able to multi task with the highest level of customer service. Will be responsible for answering phones, filing, gathering information, answering questions from patients/relatives and informing Nurses and or Physicians of critical information. Duties include: performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area. Maintaining assignment board. Filing forms / reports in char and maintain all charting and recording in consistent and accurate order. Performs transcription function efficiently, accurately and consistently. Refers verbal orders from Physicians to Registered Nurses. Complies new charts, maintain currents and enter patient information upon request on charts.

Minimum Requirements: 

The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Post high school education, which includes computer courses and medical terminology, preferred. Previous hospital experience preferred. SMS training, HSM, PSM knowledge is a plus.

• Any post-operative General surgery or Orthopedic patient care requiring pain management with continuous epidural, intrascalene blocks, femoral blocks, and adductor blocks

• Vascular
• Urology
• Podiatry
• Bariatric
• Medical if medical beds unavailable
