Shift: Per Diem Days (Tuesday and Thursday) On Call - 1 week/month (Monday at 5:00PM - Monday at 6:30AM) May require coverage for holidays/vacations

Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a Per Diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist for the Department of Nuclear Medicine in Plainsboro, NJ.

Summary:

  • Performs Nuclear Medicine Procedures by preparing, administering and measuring radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic and other tracer studies using a variety of radioisotopes and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceutical received, used and disposed, using computer and following physicians prescription. Detect and map radiopharmaceutical in patient's bodies using a camera to produce photographic or computer images for physician interpretation. Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment. Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment. Dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceutical, following radiation safety procedures and regulatory guidelines. Prepare radiopharmaceutical, adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients. Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during test procedure.

Credentials:

  • NJ DEP License in Nuclear Medicine Technology   
  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) certification within 6 months of hire
  • BLS certification within 6 months of hire

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate of a CHEA, AMA, and/or JRCNMT Nuclear Medicine program, or equivalent
  • 1 year experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting, Preferred
