The Surgery Center at Pennsylvania Hospital is located at 1840 South Street in Philadelphia. The Operating Room at the Surgery Center of Pennsylvania Hospital is comprised of 8 operating rooms allowing staff to assist in performing approximately 7,500 cases a year. The top services provided are Pain Management, Plastics, Orthopedics, and Urology as well as other services including podiatry, and general surgery. The OR’s are equipped with the latest surgical and video technology that enables our care teams to deliver the very best patient care. The surgeons at the Surgery Center of Pennsylvania Hospital are pioneers in their fields and among the most experienced physicians in the country. Using the latest techniques and procedures, they are able to mold the future of surgery to improve the lives of patients worldwide and provide some of the most advanced medical care available today. Our Registered Nurses provide direct care on elective surgeries from the time of the preoperative interview to the patient's transfer to the PACU post-operatively. Support services are provided by surgical technologists, perioperative assistants, ortho techs and medical secretaries, all of which assist the RN in delivering quality care. New hires receive a structured orientation and have the opportunity to orient and be mentored by experienced nurses and trained preceptors.
