Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.The Nursing Clinical Operations Manager focus is to participate and support the Senior Nursing Director of Inpatient Departments (Med Surg, Telemetry, and Critical Care) with implementation and operational maintenance of assigned quality initiatives, meetings, and projects. The manager will adhere to Nursing policies and procedures and organizational goals and objectives. The manager will help support operations in all inpatient departments in an efficient and cost effective manner. The clinical operations manager will work collaboratively with other hospital services, medical staff and administration.
• | Reviews nursing quality data and identifies how to lead best practice within department target goals. |
• | Actively participate on nursing and hospital wide committees as directed by the Senior Nursing Director. |
• | Promotes best practice by demonstrating a commitment to quality patient care and the profession of nursing. |
• | Reviews nursing quality data, e.g. NDNQI and identifies how to apply best practice into own practice and mentor others towards meeting quality target goals. |
• | Supports the following organizational programs: Magnet®, iCare/BE Values, Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification, Nursing Councils, and integrates their standards into clinical practice and other program as they develop. |
• | Assists in the preparation for DAAC surveys. |
• | Maintains data integrity & validity and helps teams and leadership access useful data. |
• | Helps the organization understand trends, the meaning of data, and comparison to benchmarks. |
• | Promotes innovation and creativity in the practice environment. |
• | Serves as a preceptor and mentor for new employees. |
• | Mentors student nurses, staff, and Charge Nurses. |
• | Fosters teamwork between departments and engages employees in the decision making process when appropriate and values diversity. |
• | Develops own nursing knowledge via practice, observation, professional literature, networking and attending continuing education programs. |
• | Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, etc.), flowchart/workflow presentation software, such as Visio, QI Macros, or similar. |
• | Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures | |||||||||||||||||||
